September 26, 2007:  The U.S. Department of Interior awarded Harbor Offshore, Inc. the contract to design, fabricate and install a vessel exclusion barrier at Folsom Dam. Folsom Dam is operated and maintained by the Bureau of Reclamation, Central California Area Office. The objective of the floating barrier system is to prevent the passage of unauthorized watercraft (Vessels) into Reclamation’s defined “security zone.” The barrier must function through a wide range of lake conditions, weather conditions, and dam operations and provide high energy boat stopping capability as well as a visual and audible warning to the public to refrain from entering the “security zone.”

June 30, 2007: Successful completion - on time and within budget - of the security barrier project in conjunction with DCN for the French Navy to protect the French Navy submarine base in Brest, France.

May 21, 2007 - Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Norfolk, VA.: Harbor Offshore, Inc. is awarded Phase II and Phase III of the Port Security Barrier (PSB) along the waterfront at Naval Station Norfolk.

May 8, 2007: Harbor Offshore, Inc. successfully completed its most recent live barrier tests. In cooperation with and as witnessed by personnel fom the U.S. Navy and JHU/APL. A series of eight tests were conducted, the results of which were compiled and reported by an independent engineering group with the Navy. Test objectives included satisfying the requirements of the new International Boat Barrier Standard currently under developmentby ASTM international.

February 13, 2007: Harbor Offshore, Inc. was awarded a Certificate of Conformance for the Port Security Barriers by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The PSB was designated as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology and as an 'Approved Product for Homeland Security' under the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (the SAFETY Act).

July 19, 2006 Bureau of Reclamation Approval:  The Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, CO office has approved the Harbor Offshore, Inc. PSB 600 Port Security Barrier System. The PSB 600 is a commercial adaptation of US Navy PSB design technology used at US Naval facilities around the world. The PSB 600 is designed to provide true boat stopping greater than 2 million ft/lbs.

July 12, 2006 – Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Norfolk, VA.: Harbor Offshore, Inc. is awarded contract to provide 2,200 ft. of Port Security Barrier System (PSB) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

June 30, 2006 – US Naval Forces Marianas, Guam:  Harbor Offshore, Inc. wins award for the installation of Port Security Barrier System (PSB) for the protection of Naval Station at Guam. The contract includes providing and installing 1050 ft. of Port Security Barrier System.

March 28, 2006 - Harbor Offshore, Inc. March 8, 2006 - DCN Awards Port Security Barrier System Engineering Contract to Harbor Offshore, Inc.: Harbor Offshore, Inc. received award from DCN, a large French based defense contractor to provide engineering for the installation of 230 meter Port Security Barrier system. The Port Security Barrier system is to be installed at the French Navy submarine base in Brest, France.

May 2-May 5, 2005 - Federal Laboratories Consortium Conference: Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center receives FLC Award for Technology Transfer. The award, given for the transfer of Port Security Barrier (PSB) technology for commercial application, recognizes the work of Kurt Buehler, Robert Taylor, Lawrence (Chip) Nixon and William Seelig. Harbor Offshore Barriers, Inc. attended the awards as the exclusive licensee of the the PSB technology. Click here for picture.

April 29, 2005 - Souda Bay, Greece: Harbor Offshore Barriers, Inc. wins award for the installation of Port Security Barrier System for the protection of US Naval Support Activity, Souda Bay, Crete, Greece.

April 8, 2005 - San Diego Naval Facility: Harbor Offshore Barriers, Inc. wins award for the installation of Port Security Barrier System for the protection of San Diego Naval Facilities. The contract is due for completion December 2005. 

February 15, 2005 - Sea Technology Magazine Publishes Article by Harbor Offshore Barriers Expert
The monthly magazine Sea Technology recently published an article entitled "Waterside Security Barrier Protection for Ports, Strategic Facilities and Commercial Operations" by Harbor Offshore Barriers' own Tom Pruitt. Sea Technology is the worldwide information leader for marine business, science and engineering.

January 11, 2005 - Technology Licensed by Harbor Offshore Barriers Wins Award for Excellence
The Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center received the Federal Laboratory Consortium For Technology Transfer’s 2005 Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer for the same Port Security Barrier design licensed by Harbor Offshore Barriers. read more
